Text notifications to customer

I would love for the technicians in the field to be able to send a text message to the customer stating they are on their way that also allows the customer to track the technicians arrival. Similar to when your having furniture delivered or you've scheduled an appt with your cable provider. We had this feature previously through DASH and our clients loved it.

Until they develop that feature, a clunky work-around is to use Google Maps for navigation. After clicking start you can drag up on the bottom bar where it shows the travel time and miles. Select "Share trip progress", choose "Messages" or whatever SMS you use, and enter the customer's phone number. They will get a text with your real-time progress. Helpful, especially when there is traffic.

Agreed! It would be great if the text message showed the technician's photo and their name so they know who to expect
