This can be done on the new mobile app for Drybook. Go through the following path to find it: Project > Drybook > Equipment > Press the barcode icon button in the top right. You're able to add/remove equipment simply by scanning a bar code from this view.

This functionality is not yet introduced to the Project Equipment page.
