Accrual Based Accounting- Example- Project sells in August for $10,000. Work is completed to August, project invoiced in August. Insurance company settles with us for $9,500 in September. We need the ability to put in a negative invoice of -$500 to reflect the new Revenue of $9,500 on the project. The -$500 should count against our top line revenue for September and not affect our August numbers. Otherwise you have to constantly open the books for prior months. This is utilizing the Albi native financial tools.
One Albi rep told us to try putting a credit on the account. However, this does not impact the top line revenue of the project. Editing the invoice creates an accounting nightmare. Not being able to enter a negative invoice leaves us open to potentially recognizing revenue that does not exist (artificially inflated tax bill).
